Quittez Beyrouth le matin avec votre guide professionnel et rendez-vous à Baalbek, située à environ 85 km de Beyrouth. À votre arrivée, optez pour une visite à pied de cette ville antique. Émerveillez-vous devant l'Héliopolis de Baalbek, un groupe de temples et d'autres structures romaines comptant parmi les exemples les plus grands et les mieux préservés de l'architecture romaine subsistant au Liban. Partez à la découverte du Temple de Jupiter et découvrez son impressionnant podium et une vaste cour rectangulaire où avaient lieu les sacrifices.
Prenez un déjeuner composé de traditionnel meze (petits plats du Moyen-Orient) et de tapas dans un restaurant libanais (inclus) avant de poursuivre votre excursion jusqu'à la ville d'Anjar. Après un trajet d'environ une heure en autocar, vous arriverez dans cette ville très bien préservée et pourrez vous promener dans les souks (marchés). Avec votre guide, vous visiterez les ruines omeyyades d'Anjar, un remarquable complexe de ruines datant de 705 après J.-C. Découvrez l'influence des cultures passées tout en admirant l'architecture gréco-romaine de la ville.
Ensuite, quittez Anjar et aventurez-vous à Ksara. Ce magnifique village a été recouvert par le sable pendant des siècles, et les grottes bien conservées de Ksara ont été trouvées par hasard en 1898 par des prêtres jésuites. Il est aujourd'hui le refuge du célèbre Château Ksara, où des milliers de vieilles bouteilles de vin sont conservées. Partez en promenade dans les grottes et vous en apprendrez plus sur les différents processus liés à la production viticole avant une dégustation de délicieux vins locaux.
Après votre excursion d'une journée, installez-vous et détendez-vous sur le trajet panoramique de retour à Beyrouth.

Loved every minute of this day trip. The visit to Anjar was a nice opener, not too long and great preparation for the beauty of Baalbek. The guide was great, providing plenty information, and the bus was good, picked up from hotel in a van and transferred to the main bus at the company office. Baalbek is amazing, such a large site and very well preserved. The temple of Bacchus is outstanding, the highlight of my trip to Lebanon. Lunch came after which was very good, lovely setting and vegans were well catered for - too much food really! After lunch was Ksara which was a good change of gear, not strenuous and good to get out of the sun for a while.
Highly recommend, very interesting day out! Great summary of the highlights of Lebanon. Favorite day trip out!
An amazing packed in day with very rich historical visits. Visits to both Anjar and Baalbek were stunning going back 5,000 years!

All started with not receiving an email confirmation for hotel pick-up which resulted in US$ 13.- phone calls to finally reach the person who would confirm it. Not the best start but happens, so not the end of the world. The sites itself are stunning, no question. However I ended up cancelling my other booked tours with this company and going with a private taxi instead. If you are 2 or more people it will cost you even less. If you are alone it would cost you slightly more yet brings you the freedom of stopping and staying wherever you want. The guide was very nice yet did not really share much interesting information in my opinion. Ended up looking up on Google the information I expected to get. In a nutshell, if you like tour groups go for it but to me, a better and more authentic way to discover Lebanon, is going with a private driver. By using Uber you will meet many drivers so just pick the one you "match" and suits your preferences. Hope this helps.
Everything was OK. The guide was nice. The Bus was old and Not very clean. Maybe a little bit more time in Balbeek?
One thing i will like to mention that the driver for drop off to hotel at end of trip was not at all friendly.He was dropping people far away from their hotel as per his convinience. This should not happen.
We were picked up from our hotel without any problems. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job balancing the group tour explaining about each site and giving some free time to explore the site. Driving to Baalbek you drove through several security check points, but overall it felt safe and of course the sites were amazing. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

The tour was well organized and informative. My driver picked me up on time at the hotel I was staying at, and we were dropped off at the main offices and the tour began promptly. Our guide spoke excellent English, and was very informative about what we saw. The sites were extraordinary, and the meal served was outstanding. Our guide even handled one member of the group who was, to be charitable, very challenging! I felt this was an excellent value for the money. I also found the website to be accessible and easy to manuever around. I will definately look to Viater to see what is available on future trips.
