Irish Tours bus trip to the Giants Causeway. Driver and guide was David. Very entertaining and funny. Cost was less than 50% of the price thru Princess Cruise Line.

We really enjoyed the tour of the countryside, Causeway and City Tour. Some of our route had to be altered due to the area being prepared for the British Open golf tournament but no big deal. You probably would not want to do this tour if the weather forecast was not good. Lots of walking to properly see the Causeway. Good insights to the past Belfast problems by the guide. Things are really looking up.

This was a fantastic tour. We saw a lot of beautiful Irish countryside with the highlight being the Giant Causeway. Nice to walk among the basalt rocks and the hike up along the cliffs. David was amongst our favourite tour guides not only for his extensive knowledge of Belfast and area (never took a political side when discussing the Troubles) but his endless humour made the whole tour experience that much more enjoyable.

David our driver/guide was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the excursion and it was well worth the money, which was much less expensive and much better than the cruise line could provide.

Stephen, our driver and guide for the day was superb from beginning to end. His local and in-depth knowledge of Belfast, the Giants Causeway and his continuous commentary throughout the day. The day started from the cruise terminal at 10:30am and returned us at 7:45pm Another excellent Viator trip.

Daniel was the best guide we've ever had! He was friendly, funny and so knowledgeable. We were promptly picked up at the port and guided to our waiting bus with a surprise goody bag on each seat! We headed strait to the giant's causeway with Daniel providing interesting information along the way. After that we drove to a small village where we could lunch at a lovely place Daniel recommended or explore several others on his list. Then back to a scenic drive along the coast and finally a historic drive thru Belfast and right on time back to the port. Would take any tour with Daniel!

Stephen our Guide/Driver was great. Very informative and funny and he made the day a real treat. The only draw back was where we stopped for lunch. Service was SOOO slow that it delayed the tour. Company should consider changing restaurants if service does not improve.

I signed up for this tour for the causeway, which was worth seeing, but I enjoyed tour guide Stephen's discussion of history of Northern Ireland and the "troubles" much more. Seeing Belfast neighborhoods and the "Peace Wall" and Stephen's objective insight as he lived there, was a highlight.. On cruise I did a lot of good tours, but his was the most memorable for me.

The best part of the day was the Giant's Causeway adventure. Our bus trip on this tour was NOT enjoyable. We happened to be on a bus with "party" tables... That means some seats are at a table with your back to the front of the bus. This was NOT enjoyable, riding backwards, and watching the roadside from a different perspective. Out of the 4 buses used by this company, we had the only one, using this type of arrangement. The actual adventure and viewing of the Causeway and rocks was fine. Then we proceeded on the rest of the tour. Later, on the tour, we were rerouted by the police because of a car accident. This caused a delay in finishing the rest of the tour.... We did a RUSH through the murals and the part of the city where historical events in the history of Northern Ireland vs. Ireland occurred. Even though this detour occurred, it was nothing much the driver could do about timing. The tour of the city was quick, and not satisfying because we needed to get back to the port. Sometimes things happen that are unavoidable. Bottom line... did NOT like the party bus.

Even though our ship arrived 2 hours late at 09:30, the Irish Tour driver and rep. Stephen met us with a smile and promised us we wouldn't miss anything due to our delay. We first headed for the Giant's Causeway along the Motorway, and then stopped on the coast road to view an old castle ruin. We then stopped for a comfort break in a small village Bushmills, famous for the Distillery and Robert Quigg VC memorial. Next we went to the Giant's Causeway, where we had ample time to walk to the Causeway and spend time climbing all over it! In fact we even had time afterwards, to call in at 'The Nook' for a drink, before returning to the bus. We next went to view the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge from a high vantage point, and then drove back along the scenic coastal road towards Belfast. We then stopped for lunch at a small village called Cushendall, and most of us went to a restaurant recommended by Stephen, and where the food was excellent, and the service very quick. Next we continued along the coastal road to Carrickfergus, where we had a short stop to view the castle and harbour. We then arrived in Belfast where we had a whistle-stop tour of the city centre, followed by a drive along the Peace Wall and the roads made famous by 'the troubles'. We then stopped and had time to see the various sectarian murals up close. We then got back to the ship around 18:00. The whole Excursion was very good value, but made even more so by our excellent driver and guide, Stephen. He kept us entertained with jokes and anecdotes along the way, and continually pointed out scenes of interest. He was also very knowledgeable, answering all our questions with good humour. He made the whole excursion exceptional.
