Après le ramassage en début de matinée et quelques heures de route, vous visiterez le site archéologique de Coba. Ce site inclus la plus haute pyramide de cette partie de la civilisation maya, et vous pouvez toujours y monter. Il se trouve à environ 45 kilomètres dans les terres depuis la mer, entre deux lagons. C'est l'un des sites les plus anciens, certains outils trouvés datant de 100 av. J.-C. C'est pourquoi son architecture est considérée comme étant simple par rapport aux autres sites. C'est l'une des villes maya ayant existé pendant le plus longtemps, jusqu'au moment de la conquête espagnole.

Ensuite, il sera temps de visiter un magnifique cénote nommé Tankach-Ha. Pour l'atteindre, si vous descendre sous la terre de quelques mètres par un escalier en bois, d'où vous pouvez sauter dans les eaux limpides et rafraîchissantes du cénote. Cela vous mettra en appétit et il sera temps de prendre un déjeuner de type buffet près de la pyramide de Coba.

Après le déjeuner, vous découvrirez le site archéologique de Tulum. Même si ce n'est pas le seul site archéologique en front de mer du monde, nombreuses sont les personnes qui pensent que c'est le mieux préservé et le plus grand. Pour accéder au site principal, vous devrez entrer entre ses murs de pierre et vous n'aurez plus qu'à vous émerveiller devant les falaises couvertes d'anciens bâtiments et la mer turquoise des Caraïbes. Même si c'est un site de grande envergure pour un site de front de mer, il est assez petit par rapport à d'autres sites touristiques du continent. C'était une ville active à l'époque où les espagnols sont arrivés et ils furent à l'origine de l'extinction de la ville, même si elle fut l'une de leurs dernières conquêtes.

Enfin, il sera temps de revenir à l'hôtel et de poursuivre ces merveilleuses vacances.

Our tour operator was no call, no show, and doesn’t answer phones or emails. Since I was very much interested in Coba and Tulum, I have to book the next day from a local tour operator.

Best tour ever had. The Mayan sites were not too crowded and we had a wonderful lunch with a view on the Coba lake. The Cenote was not touristy and I really enjoyed it. The guide was very nice and entertaining.

Two places that one must know as well!

The guide was really good, Coba, Tulum and Cenote combination is perfect for a one day trip. Could of things we were really disappointed about is the travel time. We were picked up at 6am from our resort. We were the first ones on the bus. After that there were SEVERAL stops, we ended up getting to our first destination only around 10 or so. That was way too many hours spent on the bus. Not sure if it was because of this we really didnt get too much time at the location spots. We got only about 45 minutes at each location. Would have been nice to get more time to swim in the Senote and shop at Tulum and climb all the way to the top in Coba. But the guide did a great job.

WE STARTED OUR TOUR IN CANCUN....STARTED AT 6AM....ONE OF THE BEST TOURS I HAVE BEEN ON...SUPER EXCELLENT TOUR GUIDE..I WISH I COULD REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT HE WAS OF MAYAN ANCESTERY VERY INFORMATIVE AND DEDICATED AND ALSO MULTILINUAL. COBA WAS EXCELLECNT...CLIMBED COBA RUINS...CENOTE WAS AWESOME...AND TULUM WAS EXECLLENT. THIS ALL DAY TOUR 6AM START GOT BACK TO CANCUN AT 8PM...BE READY FOR LONG DAY BRING SNACKS AND WATER...ALTHOUGH ALONG THE WAY THERE IS OPPORTUNITY TO GET BOTH

The tour is correctly planned in its time-management, it was run by a French and a Dutch ladies as guides both live in Cancun and know very well the region and the people at Coba, Tulum and the Cenote, both have excellent Spanish and English. To arrange the pick-up time was tricky as no one from the agency contacted us, we had to write through email and make the hotel concierge call them twice. Coba is really special, a full view on top of the jungle. Climbing there is not as hard as it seems, nevertheless if you are not accustomed to do exercise, do it slowly. You will have to do a walk of about 2 kilometers to get to the pyramid, the walk will be lead by your guide so avoid the temptation to rent a bike and skip their explanations. Finally, the return is done in a tricycle driven by a local guy. The Cenote Tankach-Ha is for my taste the most special place you will see in the tour. It is a huge pothole circular cavern area about 40 metres in diameter, you will access through a ladder to a huge deep blue crystalline water lagoon covered by a ceiling. It is so deep that you may dive with no risk from 6 metre and 10 metre platforms. You may also rent a floating jacket if you prefer to do it. The lunch is good quality, very local taste the pork puerquita is superb. But if you don't trust me, I can grant that after the cenote swim and Coba climbing you will be hungry enough and you will eat almost everything you will be put up to. Finally, Tulum is a nice place. What stands out is it is a ruin with a nice market area beside it first time I experienced such thing. If you prefer to go on the truck and avoid a 1 kilometer walk, be prepared to pay 20 pesos per person. Most probably the tour won't arrive there on time to go down to the beach area which is nice for photographs and probably to swim there. In my case I had to be satisfied on the views to the beach area because they were closed as we arrived a little late. The most probable result is that by 7pm you will arrive to your hotel satisfied with the long day experience.
