Hop on Hop off Bus is a great way to tour through Dublin and get a sense of the the city, all while listening to a recording or live guide describing the sites, and history. The Dublin Pass was great... gets you free admission to a lot of the top attractions, including the Guineas Storehouse, Jameson Distillary, EPIC museum, and the Jeannie Johnston Tall ship.... you also get to skip to the front of the line at some places....

Only of value if you intend to go to the most touristy of tourist sites in quick succession. The bus gives a useful overview of the city, but because it meanders it can take a long time to get to the place you want to alight. One of our buses also broke down. Occasionally the bus lingers at a stop for no apparent reason, testing one’s patience. The recorded commentary is much clearer to hear than the commentary provided by a driver, which can be verbose and inaudible as well as annoyingly anecdotal.

Great way to see the city and what you wanted to explore later. Drivers that spoke were wonderful. Full of information, and very, very comical. Keep them and pay them well. They really made the bus ride fun. Rate it "A"

Regular hop on hop off. Sometimes there is a guide and sometimes not. Peter was a great guide. The problem was that viator/TripAdvisor did not give all the info needed nor did the Dublin pass site. Boarding starts at 9 am at the first stop. The buses will be a red one Sightseeing Dublin that has a colorful design or the Big Bus that is Maroon and Off-White. The first stop you will have to find a sign a block north and across the street of the GMO. The wait time between buses is usually 30 mins. So if you get out of Book of Trinity/Book of Kells and get to the stop around 11:15. Then wait about 15-30 mins depending on traffic. I hope this helps.

This bus experience was a great start to seeing the city. The Guinness Experience made the price of this ticket worth it. My difficulties with it were from a lack of information as to where to pick up the bus. The answer is O'Connell Street. But, you have to ask around for the correct bus. Nowhere on the ticket or purchase receipt did it state this. We really did not have time with the 24 hour pass to use the included sightseeing options. I would really only recommend this ticket if you are purchasing for 48 hours. Otherwise, the regular hop on bus is much less expensive.

I appreciated the fact that there were people located near the signs and/or bus stops, with appropriate labels which let me know who to speak to regarding timing etc. They also advised me as to which bus tours were long and which short. I loved seeing the highlights of Dublin from up higher that street-level ...plus our driver, Dermo gave us more history than I'd expected complete with some well-sung songs - songs that complimented the particular building/pub or time in Irish history!.. Bravo!

Would wait to purchase when I arrive in the future. Bus drivers were not familiar with the new Viator QR paper, was told we needed to activate. Unfortunately spent hours on Sunday 9/2 trying to get to the right person before offices closed, we made it with 10 minutes to spare Between the bus drivers, the hop on hop off office on O'Connell St, then sent to the Dublin Visitor center on Grafton St not far from the Dublin Castle to be told our printed passes did not need to be activated. And were told we were not the first visitors to have this problem, but they were closing the Visitor Center so she was not able to do more than suggest the Dublin Castle to walk to before they closed. The next time we utilized the bus after we toured the Dublin Castle the bus driver had no issue with the paper Viator passes, we then got off at the Guinness Storehouse, mistake because it was closed by then but the bus driver did not mention this. Waited for the next bus and the next bus driver issued us the bus ticket that apparently should have been issued when we caught the bus near St. Patricks. The wait times were not accurate, the green Go Dublin buses came more frequently, found ourselves waiting for longer than 15-20 min. This was frustrating to lose hours of sightseeing because everyone was not on the same page. Also, we found the booking ref #, the IT # did not give us access to the Dublin Pass website to download the book electronically, per the email message we received prior to leaving the states. This was not the experience we were hoping for.

Had a little trouble with the pass to start with as I had downloaded it to my mobile but also printed it off. The bus driver wouldn't accept it and we had to walk to find the place to sort it out wasting 45mins of our time. As it's a new system that is being put in place the drivers are not very experienced in using it and it caused confusion. The buses are supposed to run every 15 mins but as we came out of the Guinness storehouse two buses passed and had left the stop by the time we got to it leaving us with a 25min wait for the next one. Having said all that it is a great way to get around the city and see the sights and does save you money on entering the attractions. Definitely could have done with two days to see what we wanted so will have to go back up another day but wouldn't purchase another ticket, will be cheaper to get the luas and pay in the last few things we want to do. I would recommend it to others but just make sure you get your tickets early (like 9am) to make the most of the day if that's all you have and plan well in advance.

Hop on/hop off is considered an experience and only good for one day, even if you get the pass for 2 days. Lots of options, but some of the bigger attractions weren't included Book of Kells or are free anyway National Museums. If I were to do it again, I would plan out my visit, decide what I want to do, and then price out whether the pass is a good deal. I only circumstantially recommend it.

The pass allowed us entry into as many attractions as we could get to in the two days we had it for. Well worth it.
