Kotor, entourée de hautes montagnes, se trouve adossée à un pic rocheux au fond des bouches de Kotor, le fjord le plus méridional d'Europe. Seul fjord de la Méditerranée, cette baie a été ajoutée à la liste des vingt-cinq plus belles baies en juillet 2000.
Vous serez pris en charge à votre hôtel (ou point de ramassage) de Dubrovnik pour un trajet dans un nouveau monospace Mercedes climatisé avec un guide parlant anglais et espagnol. À votre arrivée à la frontière entre la Croatie et le Monténégro, vous devrez vous assurer d’être en possession de votre passeport.
Après avoir traversé la frontière, profitez d'un trajet panoramique autour de la baie de Kotor. Boka Kotorska va vous fasciner. C'est comme si les montagnes s'étaient fissurées et avaient laissé la mer entrer. C'est le fjord le plus méridional d'Europe. Toute la baie est naturelle. Admirez ses belles petites villes ; ces véritables trésors remplis d'histoire, d'art et de beauté se sont enfilés comme des perles sur sa côte.
Votre prochaine étape est Perast, l'ancien village. Il présente une riche architecture imprégnée de la tradition vénitienne avec seize palais baroques, dix-sept églises catholiques, plusieurs structures orthodoxes importantes et une série de neuf tours défensives. Les points forts sont l'île Saint-Georges et l'île Notre-Dame-du-Rocher. Tous deux sont des sites de pèlerinage. Votre excursion inclut une promenade en bateau jusqu’à Notre-Dame-du-Rocher, créée artificiellement au XVe siècle autour d'un rocher où une représentation de la Vierge a été trouvée. Chaque année le 22 juillet, les habitants viennent consolider l'îlot en y ajoutant leur pierre.
Vous arriverez à Kotor vers midi. Kotor est située dans une baie méditerranéenne spectaculaire et isolée (à la pointe du plus profond fjord du sud de l'Europe), et c'est l'une des villes les plus pittoresques du Monténégro. Pendant des siècles, elle a été un carrefour de routes commerciales sous la forte influence de Venise. Elle est protégée par les montagnes avec une forte structure défensive construite à l’époque de l'Empire byzantin. Vous pouvez commencer à flâner dans Stari Grad (la vieille ville) et à explorer ses rues pavées et ses places pittoresques. Visitez la cathédrale Saint-Tryphon. La vieille ville est classée au patrimoine culturel et naturel de l'UNESCO. Vous aurez 2 heures de temps libre pour découvrir le charme de cette belle ville.

A day trip from Dubrovnik.A straight forward drive and not much of a delay at customs both ways. Beautiful scenery en-route.The bay of Kotor is stunning with a must visit to Lady of the Rock. A full day is required to see the sights in Kotor.

The 2 cities we visited were stunning and the boat ride to the island is something you definitely need to do. The tour guide was nothing special though and i was a little bummed that in Kotor city there was no group tour explaining the area. She just left us and told us to meet back at the bus...I was expecting a walking tour :( But overall everything went smoothly and we were very happy.

My husband and I went on this day trip to Montenegro 8/3/19. The good - our guide, Rosa, was engaging and informative. The drive was lovely, and the border crossings were not bad at all. From the other reviews we read, we were expecting to be delayed at the borders pretty significantly, but it was no problem for our tour. We loved Perast - in fact, we really would have liked some more time there. We only had 20 minutes at Lady of the Rock, and there were so many interesting things to see. The boat ride from Perast to Kotor was fun, but honestly, we could have done without visiting Kotor. It was nice, but very touristy, and we didn't need the two and half hours we were given to walk around. Our overall feeling - if you have more than one extra day in Dubrovnik, and haven't visited Montenegro before, it's a good trip. But we had a short vacation as it was, and I think we would have preferred an extra day in Dubrovnik.

I loved my day trip to Montenegro. This tiny country with only 600,000 people are a powerhouse. They have also managed to make its official currency the Euro and it's not in the EU. I learnt a lot about the history of Montenegro from our Tour Guides, one from Croatia and a local lady from Montenegro. They were both super informative, friendly and professional. Our driver was excellent too. He took a short cut, so we went to the new immigration and it was extremely quick. Everything was perfect about this tour and I fully recommend it.

This was a very enjoyable tour from Dubrovnik to Kotor Bay in Montenegro. It's about a 2 and a half hour trip on the mini bus. The journey is scenic and Kotor bay is beautiful. Kotor itself is also lovely. It is within city walls and is not too big, so quite easy to walk around and do the main sites. If you walk the walls though it is quite hilly! We didn't do this as we felt time was too tight. Our guide gave us a map of Kotor and this was easily navigable. However, a local guide would have been useful to provide information and find our way around a bit easier.

This rating has no real reflection on the tour operator Select. This was a professional and well run tour. The guide was good, and they did an excellent job of getting you from point A to point B and back again. It's a long day and the Croatian Montenegran border delays can be susbstantial. We probably burned about an hour and a half at the border between arrival and departure and that was apparently making really good time. You are warned the tour starts really quite early just for this purpose so fair enough. The reason for the average rating is that Kotor itself is pretty underwhelming. It's a tour from Dubrovnik so you've already seen an old walled city and a much nicer one with more to see in it at this point. Kotor is really just a lesser version of Dubronik which is in a poorer country. The cats there are nice to see and my wife enjoyed playing with them. There are a few nice churches but in the scheme of ornate and memorable European churches they are nothing special. Mostly the town is full of Turkish stores trying to hawk you knock off brand name goods at fairly ridiculous prices. Hundreds of Euros for counterfeit merchandise really? You are offered the same stuff in Spain or Italy for a fraction of the price so don't bother. The church in the water by Perast makes for some lovely photos. But overall I'd say unless you have some special reason to really, really want to go like a familial link to this area I wouldn't bother. There isn't alot to see and do. However, if you are going to go this company select does a good job of getting you back and forth.

We took this trip on a very hot day. The bus was full and the A/C couldn't keep up. Crossing the border into Montenegro was time consuming, fully 40 minutes each way. The boat ride was confusing. We arrived at one end of the island and were to be picked up on the other end. The church was crowded with other tours and if the tour guide didn't have reservations we didn't you couldn't go in the church in the time allotted. Kotor was very similar to Dubrovnik except we were there in the middle of the day when it was crowded and very hot. Budva is where we were scheduled to eat. We ate at a beach front restaurant. Obviously the local economy is catered toward the Russians who like to vacation there. All in all, I would have rather stayed in Dubrovnik. Oh well another passport stamp.

We wanted to see Kotor and in particular to do the boat trip to Lady of the Rock. Both these were excellent and we would have preferred to have more time at these places. Also included was a visit to Budva which was not so worthwhile, the resort has a small old town but is basically a beach resort with not a lot to see. We would have preferred to spend more time in Perast as the boat trip to the Lady of the Rock took up the whole of the time for this stop. The trip was well organised although the microphone system on the bus couldn't be heard at the back this mean't information was not available to anyone not sitting at the front. Overall we enjoyed the trip and it was well worth doing and border crossings were swifter than expected.

If you plan to go to Montenegro, choose this group tour. This tour is truly a smaller group than the others. We were in a luxury Mercedes van about 18 people. We only waited half an hour in late Aug at the border passport check between Croatia and Montenegro. We heard other horror stories from the other tourists we met in Croatia that they were stuck up to 2 1/2 hours at the border because they were on the big bus with 50 people. There are apparently two passport borders. Because our mini van is small, we were able to pass through the second border control by the coast. Big buses are not allowed there. Lady of rock and Kotor are beautiful. We also stopped in Budva but we only had 1.5 hours there which took most of our lunch time so didn't get to see much. I probably would have dropped Budva if there's an option for Kotor and Lady of Rock only. Or bring your lunch, eat on the bus if you want to do sight seeing in Budva.
