Fantastic Day on Carrauntohill the route taken was really good the views were amazing and Kevin the guide was lovely and very informative on the area, excellent knowledge of local History. Had an amazing day and will return.

Kevin our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced, he was all the time caring whether we could make it to the top or down, giving us leg massage where required and jelly sweets for the kick in the legs. Which really gave us the security feeling we needed up there. But I have to say, I didn't expect the hike to be so difficult. We are living in Switzerland, and for sure have not done all the difficult hikes in Switzerland, but this was not a hike like it was advertised, this was partially mountain climbing, there were some parts where we had to scramble on our butts to go down because it was the only way. The landscape was amazing, we saw wonderful Ireland at its best and I'm sure you can only see that from above, up there. The hike was in general more rough than what expected, we were just very proud that we could finish it until the end, I didn't have legs anymore at the end, so happy that I managed it, because I knew I would not do it again if not at the top of my shape. So they make you sign this form orior the hike, to decline any responsibility in case of deaths etc. Which is totally fair and fine if that's what you're looking for. I honestly thought at some points during the hike that if I made a false move then I was basically done. Quite dangerous at some points. So a very challenging hike, our most difficult one so far. Worth all the way, but only once in a lifetime and never again for me.
