Le premier arrêt aura lieu en Ségovie. La ville de Ségovie est riche en monuments historiques. La vieille ville romaine conserve encore le magnifique aqueduc romain du temps de l'empereur Auguste. Découvrez l'élégante cathédrale, et sa forteresse d’Alcazar, qui est connue comme l'un des plus spectaculaires châteaux d'Espagne.

À la fin de l'excursion, vous découvrirez Avila qui est l'une des plus anciennes villes d'Espagne, entourée de murs médiévaux du XIe siècle très bien conservés, elle ressemble plutôt à un immense château, et c'est le meilleur exemple de ville fortifiée. Les vieux quartiers disposent d'églises romanes, de palais gothiques, et d’une cathédrale du XIIe siècle.

La ville est le lieu de naissance Ste.Thérèse, source du mysticisme catholique espagnol. Visitez la banlieue de la cathédrale, la basilique romane de San Vicente, la place Mayor, et partez pour une courte promenade à travers ses vieilles rues pour voir le couvent de Ste. Therese.

I did this tour by myself and it was great! Rocio was very informative, caring and knowledgeable. Met some interesting, nice people. Avila and Segovia are a must see, beautiful and a nice get away for the day. Only issue was with the hotel pickup.

Cannot rate this tour as we missed it. Hotel we stayed at first booked a ride to get to the VPT office, but driver did not show up, Hotel then told a taxi driver where to take us and still could have made the tour, however the doorman spoke very little English and Cab driver did not speak English at all and dropped us at a tour bus stop, which still would have been alright, but no one there spoke English and could not direct us to the bus. Were stranded in the middle of Madrid. Thank goodness my daughter found a city map on here i-phone and we were able to walk about a mile to Julia Travel, and then to a cab back to the hotel.

Very knowledgeable and personable tour guide. We had only 9 people on the tour and a bus for 50 so plenty of room for all.

We saw a variety of interesting things which we would have missed had we traveled on our own. The big disappointment was that the tour guide barely spoke English and did most of the tour in Spanish. She also had a soft voice. I probably was able understand 10 of what she said. The included lunch was so so. Buying our own meal would have been a better choice.

The tour sites were excellent and well-chosen and important historically. I can't give a higher score to the tour, though, because I couldn't understand our guide--she has a good command of the history and of English vocabulary, but her pronunciation is very difficult to follow. I would have got much more from the audioguides I saw some people using at the Segovia Alcazar and the video screen at the Segovia Cathedral.
