A propos de cette activités
- Presentation of the farm and its history.
Enjoy this tour about Monteverde culture, Organic Agriculture, Organic Dairy and Climate Change
- Morera plant
This plant was studied to produce natural food for farm animals since it contains high percentages of protein, it is also a plant that captures a large amount of CO2 and expels clean oxygen.
- Biogas (pigs and gas production)
It is an ecological way of producing gas, and it is produced by the decomposition of organic matter.
You can use remains of food, crops and manure.
Over time methane is produced and can be used for heating and cooking.
- Irrigation system with manures
We take advantage of all types of manure (cows, sheep, pigs or goats)
and mix with water.
A pump submerged in the water is responsible for sending everything to the paddocks with this there is no need to use chemical fertilizers.
- Voison system
It consists of the rotation of potretos, we as an example, we had 30 spaces for cows every day, now we have 45-50 paddocks every day.
What does this mean? That now the paddocks have longer rotations, the paddocks are smaller but have more grass.
In this way we obtain a natural ecosystem pastures - mountain that benefits the animals that produce and the wild animals because there is no need to add chemicals or fertilizers in the grass.
And in the small details we can see great changes:
Birds that eat ticks of cows.
Microorganisms that work in the land.
The trees that provide organic matter and natural antibiotics.
- Development of calves
The growth of calves is delicate since there are bacteria and organisms that affect the animal and are not prepared.
We provide the best quality milk so that the calves grow well.
We can see how we divide the development of calves by age:
1-3 months
3-6 months
6-2 years
- Feeding of animals
With the mulberry we can feed different animals (goats, sheep, pigs, etc)
Each person can feed the animals with mulberry.
- Milking and stable room (Milking of cows)
Explanation about how it was milked before and now.
Hand milking process.
We also comment on the quality of the Jersey milk with its A2 protein and the current studies so that the lactose intolerant can consume.
- Zone of organic agriculture
Use of compost in agriculture.
Natural mixtures with different ingredients to fight plant diseases and pests without damaging the field.
Demonstration of different plantations
- Make handmade cheese and snack
It is taught how to make fresh cheese manually and authentically, at the end of the cheese is accompanied by an tortilla and coffee or fresh water to conclude the tour. ---------------------
