Did the old town tour with Marie. She was outstanding and very knowledgeable and always reading to answer questions. She stuck around after the time tour was over answering bunches of questions about places of interest and where to go for certain foods. She was an example of a great tour guide.

We started our trip to Montreal with a walking tour of the "old" section-It was fantastic! Our tour guide Sebastian was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very engaging. He not only discussed the itinerary high points but was eager to explain any further questions we had. We happened to pass a sculpture installation and when I asked if he could speak about this he had a complete history of the piece. He also gave us great ideas for the rest of our visit and at one point quietly sat our group down with maps and further explained the city to us. I cannot say enough about how knowledgeable and gracious he was. The tour was one of the highlights of our trip!

We used this tour -- the three-hour version -- to get acquainted with old Montreal on our first full day. It more than met expectations! Jeff, our French-Canadian guide, was knowledgeable and treated our small group like a gathering of friends. It was very enjoyable. I'd highly recommend him and the tour.

Our tour guide was absolutely fabulous! She lives in Montreal and presented such an exuberant appeal for her city! She took us to places in Montreal we wouldve never found on our own and told us the history behind such places as the Canadian World Trade Center and the Canadian banks. The tour of the old town was done exceptionally well! We also got to see at the musee point a calibere, a magnificent presentation on the history of Montreal which should not be missed! Our tour guide also made excellent suggestions for after the walking tour to go further explore in old Montreal. We got to eat authentic French style croissants on one of our stops and they were absolutely delicious! I cannot recommend this walking tour enough!

What a great experience! Old Montreal is an interesting place and Jean Philippe was a wonderful guide. He clearly loves his city and enjoys sharing its history and highlights. He had great stories and anecdotes that added a lot of color and interest to the historical facts that he shared with us. He was very receptive to our questions and customized his talk in response to our interests and backgrounds. While this was a tour of Old Montreal, my wife and I were also interested in the history of Jews in Montreal and another couple was interested in the history of Chinese immigrants to the city. Jean Philippe added interesting bits of history and information on both subjects to his talk, as we walked the city. When he was talking about the 1967 World's Fair that was hosted on the island off the Old Port, J.P. pulled out a couple of vintage Viewmasters from his personal collection with photos of the Fair for us to look at while he talked about the buildings that remained from the exposition. During a break on our tour we gathered around maps of the city and J.P. gave us lots of recommendations on other things to see and do in Montreal. The tour began at the Point-a-Calliere museum with a 16 minute film that surveyed the history of Montreal. The film was well worth seeing and provided a nice context for the walking tour of the Old City. This three hour tour is a little longer and a little more expensive than many other walking tours that I saw advertised, but we definitely got our money's worth and are very glad that we decided on this one. I recommend the tour highly, and look forwarded to taking this firm's tours of other parts of the city, the next time we visit Montreal. I am not sure if it is possible to book a particular guide, but would be delighted to take other tours with Jean Philippe.
