Présentez-vous à l'entrée du site de fouilles à Pompéi. Vous y achèterez votre billet d'entrée et pourrez explorer les ruines par vous-même ou, si vous avez choisi cette option, vous rencontrerez votre guide agréé pour une visite du site en sa compagnie. Dans les deux cas, vous disposerez d'environ deux heures pour explorer Pompéi.

Fondée en 600 av. J.-C, autrefois port commercial florissant de 20 000 habitants, Pompéi, de ses racines grecques et étrusques, est devenue une importante ville romaine. Puis, le 24 août de l'an 79 après J.-C., tout a basculé. Le Vésuve a eu une éruption et a commencé à enterrer la ville sous 9 mètres de cendres volcaniques chaudes. Pour les archéologues qui les ont découvertes plusieurs siècles plus tard, les ruines leur ont beaucoup appris sur la vie quotidienne à Rome. Aujourd'hui Pompéi et Herculanum offrent le meilleur aperçu sur ce que la vie à Rome devait être il y a environ 2 000 ans. Vous pouvez explorer cette ville aux ruines bien conservées. Ni riche, ni pauvre, c’était une ville de classe moyenne, un parfait exemple de la vie romaine typique.

this was a great tour, amazing guide. very knowledgeable and adjusted our tour to specifics for our group. just the 4 of us that booked the tour, was outstanding

A must see.... we signed up for the private tour so there were only four of us and it was well worth it. The tour guide was a archeologist and so knowledgeable about Pompeii. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Europe. They picked us up at the docks Royal Caribbean on time and we headed to Pompeii. After the Pompeii tour, our driver took us on a tour of Naples. We had him take us to a good restaurant where the locals eat for lunch and we were delighted with our meal. Highly recommend the private tour of Pompeii

Excellent tour. Our guide was incredible and Pompeii, awe inspiring. Just wish we had a little more time to explore on our own. Half day is really not enough time! Do yourself a favor and pack snacks, lunch and plenty of water. Then plan extra time to just explore on your own. Lovely tour.

Just fantastic. Our driver had lots of information along the way. The car was beautiful and it was such a quick and efficient trip from the cruise port to Pompeii. We got to Pompeii ruins with time to have a coffee before it opened and we then had a good two hours to wander about. Obviously Pompeii is a place you want to spend a day or two visiting the ruins to take it all in but as we were on a cruise ship it was a great tour to book to go see that and then be back to Naples by lunch to wander about the city, get a pizza and be back on our cruise ship. Our driver was fabulous and told us all about the city and points of interest to see, even dropping us in the city so we could wander about and make our own way back to the ship. Really impressed with this booking and would highly recommend.
