After a bit of a stumble on picking up passengers at the chaotic cruise port gate, the rest of our time was welll spent. Our guide, Roberto was very knowledgeable, and despite a little accent was easily understood. The amount of time on-site at two hours was just right for those who have general interest, but be a little short for die-hards. Still, on a hot day, it was ample. Most of the high spots in The town were covered. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Of all the tours I took in Naples, this was by far the best. Pickup was prompt. Our guide and driver pointed out sites during the process of driving through the city, and on the way to the site gave a real feel for the history of Herculaneum.A added bonus - the company (WorldTours) provided complimentary bottles of water prior to the tour. Just a nice little thoughtful touch.Our guide Michael, was both knowledgeable and informative. We explored the entire site including areas of interest which I did not see other tours visiting. Not many tour guides manage to maintain their enthusiasm for the job but he made Herculaneum come alive.To summarize - if you have an interest in history - this is a tour worth taking.Some additional thoughts. This site, although smaller than Pompeii, is still reasonably large and requires significant walking. On a hot day, some head protection might be appropriate. There is also a large staircase at the end of the tour to get back to the entrance - pace yourself.
