L'Opéra Garnier est le principal opéra de Paris, et l'un des plus grands d'Europe avec une capacité d'environ 2 000 places. Officiellement nommé Palais Garnier en considération de ses luxueux décors élaborés, c'est un véritable plaisir de visiter l'opéra et ses magnifiques pièces au détour de chaque recoin.

Retrouvez votre guide expérimenté à l'intérieur de l'Opéra Garnier pour une visite d'1,5 heure dans de ce magnifique bâtiment de style néo-baroque. En vous baladant dans la somptueuse Rotonde des Abonnés, vous admirerez les mosaïques travaillées au sol et les sublimes lumières murales qui ont fait le bonheur des invités de l'Opéra auparavant.

Dirigez-vous vers l'escalier principal en marbre, flanqué de statues de bronze impressionnantes sculptées à la manière des dieux grecs comme la Prophétesse Pythia. Pendant la balade, votre guide vous indiquera les monuments les plus remarquables tout en vous expliquant l'histoire fascinante de l'opéra. Découvrez les célèbres opéras joués ici, notamment la Traviata, et apprenez comment le bâtiment a inspiré le décor du roman de Gaston Leroux et l'opéra musical d'Andrew Lloyd Webber Le Fantôme de l'Opéra.

Lorsque vous entrez dans l'imposant auditorium, vous aurez le souffle coupé à la vue de ces sièges de velours rouge, de ces chérubins d'albâtre et de ces balcons ornés à la feuille d'or. La scène est encadrée par un lustre extravagant qui jette sa lumière sur toutes les activités dans l'auditorium en contrebas.

Promenez-vous dans les salons et le Grand Foyer, où le public se promène à l'entracte, et admirez les mosaïques richement décorées, les peintures et les miroirs qui devaient ressembler à la galerie d'un château français classique. Votre visite se termine normalement ici, et vous pouvez continuer à explorer en solo si vous le souhaitez.

Vous pouvez également opter pour une visite en dehors des heures usuelles où vous pourrez admirer la beauté du théâtre sans la foule habituelle. Vous découvrirez les mêmes zones qu'en journée, mais le cadre semblera encore plus impressionnant avec votre seul groupe en visite !

What can one say - Opera Garnier is just mind blowing. The sheer majesty of the building justifies its former reputation as THE place to be seen. The informative guide takes you through the building explaining the design and history and how it weaves into the story of the Phantom of the Opera. The interior as well as the exterior of this building is a sight to behold - a lifetime memory.

A guided tour was the ONLY way I would suggest visiting this beautiful building, full of historic details and stories. Our tour guide was fabulous, articulate and fun ! I would definitely suggest this tour.

Our tour guide, Emmanuelle, was great and very knowledgeable. It was interesting to learn the about the history of the building and its art, and even a bit about the legend of the Phantom himself. Unfortunately, the auditorium was closed for most of the day and it would have been nice to know that before booking the tour. We were able to see in after we waited for about 45 mins after the tour, because the performers had a lunch break.

I'm so glad we booked this tour of the Opera House. It was very crowded, but we had no problem getting in. This is an amazingly beautiful building, and we all thought it was the nicest building in Paris. We got to go in to the opera hall and sit in the seats, which is something you can't do if you're not on a tour. The Marc Chagall ceiling is stunning to sit under, and the origin of the Phantom of the Opera was interesting to hear. We highly recommend this tour!

I would've rated it lower, but the Opera is just so magnificent. And our tour guide, Rita, was amazing and very knowledgeable, but the way you need to line up and then go in various groups by a designated letter, is very disorganized. Our group already began after we got in. The line is VERY long, and you should arrive VERY early. And we were in the wrong line as our tour began at 11AM. She already started the tour. Luckily we spotted her and caught up. But she had to wait and get a headset that was working as one of ours wasn't. And later the two other women I was with said their headsets were picking up another language and one only worked intermittently. So it was a frustrating experience, but the place itself is breathtaking. I hope they can work out the kinks and make it pleasurable for everyone.
