Après le ramassage à votre hôtel à Porto, retrouvez votre guide pour la journée et informez-le de vos éventuelles préférences particulières ; il peut adapter l'expérience à vos envies.

Commencez par un parcours panoramique à travers la ville et le long de la côte, en passant par la ville Matosinhos, une station balnéaire célèbre pour ses fruits de mer frais. Ensuite, dirigez-vous vers Vila Nova de Gaia, une ville située sur les rives du fleuve Douro. Vila Nova de Gaia est le principal centre de production du plus célèbre produit d'exportation de Porto : le vin de Porto.

Montez à bord d'un rabelo (si cette option est sélectionnée), un bateau de marchandise traditionnel en bois, pour une croisière d'une heure sur le paisible fleuve Douro. Pendant votre croisière, comptez les ponts. Porto a six ponts, dont le plus célèbre est le Ponte de Dom Luís I, entièrement métallique, qui était le plus long pont à travée unique au monde quand il a été construit en 1886.

De retour sur la terre ferme, visitez l'une des caves de porto et participez à une dégustation de portos (incluse jusqu'au 31 décembre 2017 uniquement). Découvrez la différence entre le blanc, le ruby et le tawny. Vous pourrez ensuite choisir de suivre les suggestions de votre guide pour le déjeuner (à vos frais).

Revenez au centre-ville de Porto pour poursuivre la visite touristique. Montez au sommet de la tour Clérigos pour bénéficier d'une vue panoramique sur la ville, puis dirigez-vous vers la librairie Livraria Lello pour admirer les courbes de son escalier Art nouveau et ses superbes vitraux.

Ensuite, choisissez de visiter la cathédrale de Porto (Sé do Porto), bâtie au XIIe siècle, avant de faire un saut à la gare São Bento, ornée de magnifiques mosaïques portugaises. Plus tard, explorez Ribeira, le cœur historique du vieux Porto.

En fin d'après-midi, retournez à votre hôtel à Porto, où le circuit se termine.

A great day with our guide Alex in and around Porto. Being born and brought up in Porto Alex was full of knowledge to share and knew many special viewpoints that most tours would miss. His English was excellent. The format of the day was highly customised to our preferences, such as where to have lunch, the order of sightseeing such as morning or afternoon cruise, which port producer to visit etc. He also allowed us time to visit the famous bookshop in Porto, entrance to which was not included in the schedule, but well worth it. Knowing that we were planning to visit the Douro later Alex gave us the benefit of his experience there as well. At the end of the day we felt we had a really good introduction to Porto.

Great tour! We are a family of 5 and were picked up by our guide and driver from our hotel at 9:30AM and we spent a wonderful and informative day with her. We first drove out along the river to the Matosinhos area, then back into the city center for a walk around the old town. Our guide was very flexible and accommodating - picking up back up in the car after the rain kicked in and taking us back to our hotel for a quick pit stop to pick up some extra layers. We then had lunch at an excellent restaurant recommended by the guide, then we took an hour long boat trip along the river. We then did a tour and tasting at the Croft port cellar. We had an excellent day and would recommend the tour to all.

The day started on a bad note we had received and email that the tour was going to start earlier than the expected time so we were out waiting for 30 minutes. When I called it sounded like the office thought our tour was at the regular time. They informed the guide, he rushed over and was there in minutes. We kept a positive attitude and were rewarded with a wonderful day. The guide Jose was superb a very knowledgeable young man, he was personable, flexible and always conscious of the different needs of his guests. Jose made sure to ask questions to tailor the tour to our needs and preferences he found a great place for lunch where the food was awesome and the atmosphere really matched our easy going personalities. He found exactly what I wanted to experience for port tasting and I am grateful for his awesome recommendation. During his down time he was on the phone making reservations and adjusting the schedule to fit our needs. Private tours are bit more expensive but you also get a lot more out of your day on larger tours you often get rushed on things you like and linger in boring areas, not the case here. Also Jose is able to park the vehicle in places we would not have known about. When an area is done, he is also is able to let us linger and get the vehicle instead of having to walk back through a place where we have been before. Wonderful day. Thanks Jose!
