It was a long ride to this beautiful, picturesque town, but it was worth it. The countryside is beautiful, mostly farmland. Our guide, Yvette was very knowledgeable and energetic. The lunch was awesome, in a small tavern. The town and castle are extraordinary... Please go!
Tour guide had a mix of Italian and English speaking tourist to translate too. Lunch was ordinary. Coach driver was very unprofessional and when not drinking and eating whilst driving was talking on phone and driving one handed!
The town Cesky Krumlov itself is absolutely stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend.
The tour started at hotel pickup by a large bus, then all passengers were assigned to different smaller vans at the rail station based on the registered tours. There were 12 people in my group so it's a good size to move around while visiting the village and in the castle. The lunch was traditional Czech cuisine, beer not included; but in a great location with the view to the castle tower, and the river. Each way takes 3 hours or so between Prague and Czesky Krumlov, so it's about 4 hours total on the site.
Beautiful and charming, this town is definitely worth a visit. Although quite busy, it is a very fairytale type of place. FYI, you are not allowed to take pictures inside the castle, but there are several books at quite reasonableprices that you can get in the giftshop. The only problem we encountered was from within our group of 18. Two of them did not speak english or spanish (these were the 2 languages the tour was catering for, as advertised). They were then late returning to the bus. The guide had to go looking for them. Whilst she was doing this they then turned up, oblivious to the chaos they had caused. It meant we were an extra hour waiting around, and therefore late back to Prague....a very long day, and frustrating for all the other passengers and the guide.
Great introduction to a beautiful Cesky Krumlov! Very knowledgeable tour guide and all together very awesome and enjoyable experience!
Staying in Prague for a few days in mid-December we decided to look for a day out, mainly to view the countryside of Bohemia and Moravia. The number of options available were, surprisingly, quite limited and as the former concentration camp at Theresienstadt seemed hardly festive the UNESCO site of Cesky Krumlov effectively chose itself. The operator Prague Bus Tours were well organised and the itinerary went ahead as published. The guide was very knowledgeable with, helpfully, excellent English and was always accommodating to his small (5) group of visitors. Cesky Krumlov is some two and a half hours drive south of Prague and is a medieval town situated on a bend on the River Vlatava. There is a substantial and impressive castle overlooking the town. Unfortunately being December most of the interior of the castle was closed for the winter. The was some recompense for this in that there was a small Christmas market in the main square and the gluhwein was excellent. also closed were the large castle gardens - so perhaps it would be better to visit the town between April and October!
Our guide no service mind. We ask she about a bottle water and wifi she answer like she annoyed us. The bottle water and wifi is include the Price but wifi not working and we didn't get a water after 1 hours on the bus. So we ask coz we need to know we must buy water by my self or not. She not answer. When the bus stop at gas station we bought water but after passenger get on the bus she will give the bottle water for us. For What???? If you include the water bottle in price you must tell guide give it to traveler after everybody get in the bus. The bus driver is very good he nice, Friendly.
