Excursion de 3 jours en Amazonie au Corto Maltés Lodge
Dès votre arrivée à l'aéroport, vous serez accueilli par votre guide et conduit au port Capitania, où vous embarquerez à bord d'un bateau amazonien typique et voyagerez le long du fleuve Madre de Dios pour quarante minutes jusqu'à ce que nous atteignions le Corto Maltes Amazonia Lodge. Une fois arrivé au lodge, vous aurez le temps de vous détendre et profiter d'un délicieux déjeuner. L'après-midi, votre aventure en Amazonie commencera par un trek dans la jungle pour découvrir une grande variété d'arbres tropicaux et de plantes médicinales. Vous rencontrerez également de nombreuses créatures différentes. Vous visiterez aussi un campement de shiringuero (planteur de caoutchouc), une reproduction d'un vrai camp, où vous observerez le processus de collecte du caoutchouc et son utilisation pour de nombreux produits. Le trek durera environ 2 heures.
Une fois de retour au lodge, vous pouvez faire un plongeon rafraîchissant dans la piscine ou profiter d'un délicieux cocktail au bar de la terrasse avant d'embarquer pour un safari en bateau d'une journée à la recherche de caïmans. Nous retournerons ensuite pour un appétissant dîner péruvien.
2e JOUR : lac Sandoval, visite de la tour d'observation et d'un camp de récolte de noix du Brésil (Corto Maltes) (B, L, D)
Aujourd'hui, vous vous lèverez tôt pour profiter au maximum des animaux de la forêt amazonienne dans la matinée. Après 20 minutes de voyage sur la rivière Madre de Dios, vous arriverez à l'embarcadère du lac Sandoval. Après environ 3 km de randonnée, vous entrerez dans la réserve nationale Tambopata. Vous verrez des arbres géants, différents types de singes, de beaux oiseaux et bien plus encore. Lors de votre excursion en bateau sur le lac Sandoval, vous pourrez observer des loutres géantes, des reptiles, des mammifères et des oiseaux.
Île aux singes (facultatif). Cette activité dépendra de la saison. Parfois, il sera difficile de la visiter en raison des inondations.
Une autre activité formidable sera l'ascension de l'une des deux tours d'observation (20 et 42 mètres de haut) conçues pour observer les oiseaux. Après cette expérience intéressante, vous irez dans un camp de récolte de noix du Brésil.
Vous profiterez alors d'un peu de temps libre. Vous pourrez nager, vous rafraîchir au bar ou visiter notre magasin de souvenirs.
3e JOUR : de Corto Maltes à l'aéroport de Puerto Maldonado (B)Vous vous lèverez tôt le matin vers 5:30 pour observer une vasière d'argile (à 20 minutes à pied). Vous pourrez observer un spectacle fantastique réalisé par des perroquets qui viennent se poser sur la collpa pour ingérer un type particulier d'argile. Nous retournerons ensuite vers le lodge.
Après un délicieux petit déjeuner, votre guide vous accompagnera sur le bateau pour Puerto Maldonado. Avant d'atteindre l'aéroport, vous vous arrêterez dans un marché local où sont vendus des produits agricoles, en particulier des fruits amazoniens. Vous arriverez à l'aéroport à temps pour votre vol domestique.

The lodge is nice in a beautiful location. A lot of thanks to our guide, Moisis. He was very helpful and knowledgeable of the local nature. He really hepled us to feel comfortable to the jungle.
Great family vacation! Would recommend lodge to provide fans in the room and some kind of bug repellent. Awesome tour guide!!
Our guide, Franklin, was a treasure trove of knowledge insofar as how natives used and understood the nutritional and medicinal nature of plants and animals that throng through the jungle, lake and river that you will visit on this trip. His eyes, furthermore, were incredible, spotting things that took most of us some time to see even after he pointed them out, through our binoculars. For this alone, he gets 5 stars. Your 'close encounters' will likely be far from that, but with eagle-eyed guides your binoculars can make out forms and occasionally features within the elusive jungle. That said, the lodge does not look like the pictures. It's not bad at all just very basic, with electricity and hot water at certain hours of the day, and everyone following an identical schedule. The bungalows are paper-thin, which is fine, as most are free-standing, but if you're caught in the 4-room 2-story house units C-1 through C-4, be prepared to hear every word and non-word, iPhone buzz, footstep and sound as though your neighbors are sitting in your lap. Worse, the French-run, French-saturated hostel it's very much a hostel don't expect anything more has zero 'Western' customer service or attentiveness to speak of, whether food no choice no timetable no discussion or drink be prepared to wait up to 40 minutes to be served at the one time everyone is dumped into the bar, simultaneously, awaiting dinner. For this, the Lodge itself gets 1.5 stars.
Mostly good, however a BIG issue that wasted hours of our time. I added a traveler to our booking at least a month before our arrival. I was assured all would be fine...but his name was not on our pick up list from our accommodations in Puerto Maldonado. Luckily our hostel host went with us to the travel headquarters to make sure everything was clear. We had been switched from Corto Maltés Lodge to Inkaterra Lodge Field Station which was beautiful and very peaceful! So this review is not for Corto Maltés, just Viator as a booking service. The agent had emailed me the itinerary but I assumed it was all part of the same lodge group. It wasn't.
This tour was well-organized and our guide, Manuel, was fantastic. The rooms were nice and we loved the hammocks on the porch area. It was a shame that we ended up getting so much rain, as we weren't able to enjoy them as much as we would have liked. For anyone who also encounters rain when you are there: get everything away from the windows! We learned the hard way that the screened-in windows, coupled with the curtains, do very little to prevent water from entering your room and soaking the floor. Luckily, our hard-sided luggage prevented everything from being soaked, but it was a close call. The only down-sides of our trip were the market walk at the end it was very strange, and something that most people spending some time in Peru will experience anyways and the fact that the WiFi was out the whole time we were there it had been out for quite some time as a result of a storm that passed through. It's nice to disconnect, but we were leaving to fly back home to Canada directly after our tour, and were unable to check-in to our flights and keep in touch with people picking us up from the airport! Overall, this was a great tour and we highly recommend it!
All the logistics were handled very well. The lodge was very nice albeit simple. Ceiling fans would have been nice...it was pretty hot and humid. Our guide Manual was fantastic, very knowledgeable and easy going. The food was very good, and appreciated the pool and bar after an early morning hike in to the jungle!
