Fantastic! Fantastic! Alex did an excellent job organizing this tour. My cruise arrived in St. Petersburg one day later than scheduled and Alex rearranged all the tours without charging any extra even though this must have come at loss to him. He was patient and very accommodating and we got exactly what was promised and more including a boat ride. Our Tour Guide Veronika was very knowledgeable imparting her knowledge of the Russian history . I strongly recommend this company Maxbalt for any excursions in St. Petersburg. Pickup and drop off was at the cruise terminal and it was a very manageable small group.
Good accommodation good driver but TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE GUIDE from MaxiBaltTOURS Saint -Petersburg Russia .Her name is TATIANA not only that she had a very very strong accent that made her presentation misunderstood but also she didn't use a microphone so we didn't hear her most of the times .On top of that she had an attitude when we ask questions she was answering with a whole speech to cover her ineptitude .She mixed ,dates of events ,also historical names and events ,numerous times .She didn't wait for us, and permanently answering like a robot, that she follows a "program" The lunch was very bad ,less then $4 for a fix menu (260 rubles) they gave us, and the owner asked us to pay extra for a glass of faucet water and for butter ,was a really dump with only 1 local costumer besides our group , used mostly as a take out joint .Very poor choice to bring visitors and especially costumers that paid a great amount of money for this guided tour, if you want to show off with your beautiful City and the great people of Russia .Viator is a good company highly regarded by so many ,and was very difficult for me to write this negative review ,but hope that was help[full to your company .I will use you again .Thank you for your consideration .
I was disappointed with the group size of 30. I was under the impression from your description of the tour that we would be in a small group of 10-15! Next, our guide Eve (on the first day) was very uninformative, bathroom breaks were not very often, and while walking thru gardens at The Peterhoff, she walked very fast and it was hard for some to keep up! We did find out that she (Eve) was sick and didn't feel well. Our second day was MUCH better and our guide, "Love", was FANTASTIC!!
Veronica was a wonderful guide .She dealt very well with some problem tourist . Very knowledgeable and HONEST about St. Petersburg . Our group of 16 was perfect size.We did not waist any time getting on and off buses like Tours threw Cruise Ships.. Faberge Museum was OK . We did Folk Show in evening for extra $ but, was well worth it. Had great time .Lunch was also very good . Felt very safe entire time on tour. Many in our group was worried about that for some reason.
Absolutely a great tour! Our guide was amazing, her English speaking skills were perfect. Our timing was perfect, as others waited in long lines our tour group moved through each stop with total ease. The guide kept our group of 15 perfectly paced to see all the key sights. She placed us in the best spot at the right time at Petroff fountain to see the opening ceremony. Her knowledge level across the tour, was like having a University professor guide you through the stops and explain the amazing history of St Petersburg. We were so glad we booked this tour instead of cruise ship version. We paid less and got to do and see more.
This was a fantastic tour. Highly recommend it. Our tour guide Veronika was incredible. She explained everything we were seeing and answered every question. Wear your walking shoes, there is a lot to see. The tour doesn't include going inside of St. Isaacs but we ran over there during lunch and purchased a ticket and went in takes about 15 minutes to see the inside. Get the 'museum' ticket-- they call the inside of the church the museum. The Faberge eggs were gorgeous. The palaces and Hermitage were so ornate. The cathedral of the blood was breathtaking. Unfortunately there was some scaffolding on the outside, but it was still gorgeous. If you have difficulty walking distances at a pretty good clip this may not be the trip for you -- we put something like 13,000 steps on our fitbits each day.
Great two day in St. Petersburg and able to visit great places. Peterhof and Catherine's Palace are spectacular. The grounds and fountains at Peterhof are spectacular. And at Catherine's Palace - an Amber decorated room that Russia spend 12 million to restore! Veronika was a great guide. She was knowledgeable and entertaining. The Church of Spilled Blood is incredible! We definitely were able to enjoy the beauty of the places and get a great amount of history. And Russian pancakes -- pretty good! We only wish that members of a tour group were a little more courteous and get to the meeting places on time. One group was 45 minutes late. Getting through Russian Customs from a cruise ship was a little slow, but there were plenty of booths open and we were alerted to allow extra time. Thank you Veronika very much for making out 2 day visit very enjoyable.
We had a great guide Anna who knew everything from Russian automobiles to Rembrandt brush strokes. She was amazing!! We got to experience the history of St. Petersburg, the grandeur of the palaces, the Highlights of the Hermitage AND the daily life of the Russian citizens!!
Brilliant!!!!
OMG- Amazing Tour. Faberge Museum was just breathtaking. The whole 2 days was just so filled with amazing sights and experiences. Our guide Enlena and our Driver Andrew were brilliant. Our Lunch's both days were great. Great Tour, Totally recommend it.
