Après le transfert depuis votre hôtel de Saint-Pétersbourg, votre guide vous emmènera à l'embarcadère, situé derrière le Palais d'hiver. Ensuite, montez à bord d'un hydroglisseur à grande vitesse pour une fabuleuse promenade de 45 minutes sur le fleuve Neva, en découvrant Saint-Pétersbourg depuis une perspective unique pendant que vous longez la rive sud du Golfe de Finlande.
Lorsque votre bateau arrive à l'embouchure du Canal de la mer Blanche, entrez dans l'énorme parc de Peterhof, comprenant des jardins complexes regorgeant de fontaines, statues, palais et pavillons datant du XVIIIe siècle et construits sur ordre du Tsar Pierre le Grand.
Tout d'abord, promenez-vous dans le parc inférieur du domaine, qui se trouve entre le Grand Palais et le rivage et abrite plus de 140 fontaines, chacune fonctionnant sans pompes. Arrêtez-vous à l'impressionnante Grande Cascade avec sa statue dorée de Samson ouvrant les mâchoires d'un lion.
Une fois que vous avez vu les trois cascades, dont une conçue comme un échiquier et une autre avec des dragons chinois, vous comprendrez pourquoi Peterhof est surnommée la « Versailles russe ». Ensuite, continuez jusqu'au Grand Palais et explorez son fabuleux intérieur, dont 30 chambres décorées dans un style baroque.
De là, promenez-vous dans le jardin supérieur, un agencement formel typiquement français avec cinq fontaines, dont une représentant Neptune, le dieu de la mer. Observez les fantasques créations conçues pour absorber les visiteurs, comme la fontaine parapluie qui déverse de l'eau dès que quelqu'un s'assied en dessous ! Votre guide conduira ensuite votre groupe dans le centre-ville pour explorer la ville à votre guise.

We had a private tour of the palace and gardens and our guide was excellent throughout the entire tour. If you only had limited time to spend in St. Petersburg then put Peterhof to the top of list, I personally found it better then The Palace of Versailles in many ways, the restoration of the palace after being badly damaged after WWII is outstanding. Our tour last about 3 hours at the actual palace/gardens which only gives enough time to experience the main attractions, you would need days there to do this place justice.

A must see while in St Petersburg. The boat ride, is just the experience, but don't expect anything exciting of it and it is noisy that could be problem for small children. The palace and the tour in general very good. Out guide was OK, at times she looked like very tired

Absolutely wonderful guide, I won't embarrass myself by trying to spell her name collected us from the hotel on time with our driver. She made the car journey very interesting pointing out many interesting locations en route. Her knowledge of the Peterhof was superb, as was her enthusiasm during the entire 4 hours or so we were with her. A genuinely lovely time with a delightful guide. Please pass our thanks to her. Our guide was good, I had a little trouble hard understanding with his hard accent,at first but he had a full english vocabulary. The other guests in our group misunderstood that the boat ride was only ONE WAY HOME... Not both ways. So they made a big stink which ruined OUR tour. Wish the tour was longer as our guide was very knowledgable and would liked to have gotten more info from him.

Peterhof is must in Petersburg! But reserve for the whole trip more time because within the given time is only fast track! Visiting the Grand Palace is a bit marching tour be prepared for it. You will go through really beautiful rooms but in quite speedy mode because is it small and so many people want to see it. The gardens are really nice and great! You can spend there hours next time I will do so!
